Sant'Eugenio

The client

The Sant'Eugenio Theatre is a historic institution of the Palermo scene. The collaboration has been going on for more than ten years: a relationship of trust built show after show, which over time has spanned set design, costumes and props for productions of different genres.

The work

Designing for theatre means working with real constraints: assembly times, movements on stage, budget, materials that must withstand performance after performance. Every production is born from a direct dialogue with the direction, to translate the idea of the show into concrete elements that work under the lights and in front of the audience.

The latest productions

For "Più o meno pausa" by Daniela Pupella we created a stage fan over two meters wide, designed to be opened and closed directly on stage: not a static backdrop, but a living element that takes part in the show and follows its rhythm.

For the reinterpretation of "Beauty and the Beast" the work involved costumes and props, with the goal of reinventing an imagery everyone knows without copying it: giving the fairy tale its own visual identity, consistent with the directorial reading.
